someone gave my a apple ipod video 5th generation all I have is a usb cord do you need any kind of software ?
I am trying to figure out how to download the photos already on there onto my computer and ease them and the music on there can anyone help me
when i plug my ipod in with the usb cord it does not give me any options to do anything. Am I supposed to have some kinda software to download to my computer to read the ipod so that I can download the photos already on there to my computer and then ease them.

You have to download iTunes from apple.com after downloading it and installing it on your computer/laptop, connect your iPod to your computer using the usb you have. Two options will appear once you connect the iPod 1. delete all data in the iPod or sync ipod data. YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD ITUNES ON YOUR COMPUTER!!!

not all the video format can be played in ipod, you need to convert the video into mp4 or h.264 first. you may need a ipod converter to help you. I’m using leawo free ipod converter.
